Architecture and the Coded Image - March 1

Benjamin Edwards is an artist whose work explores the codes of the American cityscape in the context of a post-digital consumerist utopia. He draws meaning from corporate architecture, big-box retailers, icons of standardized consumption, and from archetypes of 20th century architecture and urban design. In distilling and reinterpreting images of today's "junkspace", Edwards' paintings propose a new way of seeing our built environment.
